Beverage Service Ideas:
 | Write guests names on cups or glasses to conserve with re-use. |
 | Serve your guests a first drink and then let them serve themselves, at smaller
parties. |
 | Set out non-alcoholic punch, coffee, juices and sodas and bottles of alcohol.
Guests may then add alcohol to their beverages, as they desire. This precludes the chance
of any alcoholic beverage being served by mistake. |
 | Remove alcohol from serving areas one hour before party is scheduled to end. |
 | Present designated drivers with a token gift of a lighthearted nature. |
 | Be adamant about not allowing a guest to drive home drunk. This is a host's
responsibility. If necessary send a guest home in a taxicab. |
Fastest way to chill a bottle of wine or champagne:
 | Place bottle in a bucket or any tall container, lay some ice around the bottom
and sprinkle it with a few tablespoons of salt. |
 | Continue to add salt and ice until it reaches the neck of the bottle |
 | Fill the container with tepid water for 10 minutes. |
 | Bottle is chilled.
|
Freeze an inch of water in the bottom of an ice bucket to keep
ice frozen longer.
